Healthy Spinach & Crab Dip

This next recipe is delicious, guilt-free and contains a whopping 48 grams of protein!! The perfect appetizer for a health-concious ladies night.

In a bowl, combine one cup of 0% fat plain greek yogurt, a quarter cup of mashed ripe avocado, 3 thawed and strained frozen spinach nuggets (makes a quarter cup), a quarter cup of minced green onions, half a cup of canned crab meat, a quarter cup of shredded parmesan and asiago cheese blend, one minced garlic clove, half a teaspoon of lemon juice, a quarter teaspoon of lemon zest, half a teaspoon of sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.

Mix well. This dip can be served hot or cold. To heat up, place in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for one minute intervals, mixing well each time, for a maximum of three minutes. Do not over heat since the yogurt will separate. Enjoy this delicious dip with tortilla chips, crackers or a baguette.

Makes 4 servings


1 cup 0% fat plain greek yogurt
1/4 cup mashed ripe avocado
3 frozen spinach nuggets, thawed and strained (makes 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup green onions, minced
1/2 cup canned crab meat
1/4 cup shredded parmesan & asiago cheese blend
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp lemon zest
1/2 tsp sea salt
Freshly ground pepper to taste


  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. 
  2. Can be served hot or cold. To heat up,  microwave dip at 1 minute intervals and mix (maximum 3 minutes). Do not over heat since yogurt will separate. Enjoy with tortilla chips, crackers or a baguette.
