Grapefruit Juice

Make your very own grapefruit juice while still conserving the fruits fiber!

First off, we have an abnormal way of eating our grapefruit. We peel it like an orange and remove the meat from the individual casings before eating it. The other day, I decided to put the grapefruit meat and the excess juice in the blender to make a pulpy juice. To my surprise, it wasn't pulpy at all, it was as smooth as any juice, however it contained all the fibre. I was very pleased with the result!

Start by peeling four large grapefruit.

Next, remove the pieces from the fruit and peel off the casings. I do these steps over a large bowl to catch the excess juice.

Remove the meat from the casings and squeeze the excess juice out of the casings before throwing away.

These tasks are time consuming but as you peel more grapefruit it well get easier, trust us!

Once all the meat has been removed, add the juice and meat to a blender. Blend until smooth. Transfer to a pitcher and voila!

We like the tartness of the juice but you can add any type of natural sweetener to make it suit your taste buds!
