Chocolate Coconut Steel Cut Oats


If you have a little extra time in the morning, you should give this next recipe a try. This chocolate coconut steel cut oats recipe is so delicious, it tastes just like dessert!




In a saucepan, mix together half a cup of water, half a cup of coconut milk and a quarter cup of steel cut oats. Bring to a boil and let simmer on medium heat, mixing constantly,  for 15-20 minutes or until oats are fluffy and liquid has evaporated.

Remove from heat and mix in one tablespoon of maple syrup, one tablespoon of unsweetened shredded coconut and one teaspoon of cocoa powder. Mix well and serve.




Chocolate Coconut Steel Cut Oats
Makes 1 serving

Ingredients:

1 tbsp Unsweetened shaved coconut
1 tbsp Pure maple syrup
1 tsp Cocoa powder
1/4 cup Steel cut oats
1/2 cup Unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 cup Water

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, coconut milk and oats to a boil.
  2. Let simmer on medium heat, mixing constantly for 15-20 minutes or until oats are fluffy and liquid has evaporated.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in maple syrup, cocoa powder and coconut. Mix well and serve.
Makes 1 serving. Serving is approximately 290 calories.
